After cutting a deal with a couple of celebrity “Sharks” last season, Ames’ Cactus Jack Barringer will again be featured on the Shark Tank television program, airing at 7 p.m. (Central), Friday, April 29 on ABC networks. The show airs nationally and was the highest rated network show in its time slot last week.
Cactus Jack used a dose of his bigger-than-life personality, and his penchant for inventing products that will sell to the masses, to convince investors – or “Sharks” as they are referred to on the show – Kevin Harrington and Barbara Corcoran to invest almost a quarter-million dollars in his Body Jac. The device, which Cactus Jack invented after being told by his doctor he needed to get fit, helps even the weakest people to do pushups. For their investment, Harrington and Corcoran received a 50% ownership stake in the Body Jac.
In the months since making the deal on Shark Tank, Cactus Jack and his partners produced an infomercial selling the Body Jac. His vignette on Shark Tank this week will detail the trio’s progress in getting the product to market. It will also showcase Cactus Jack’s signature “flash,” which includes his trademark western wear.
