Cactus Jack will bring his bigger-than-life personality to the Big Apple on Monday, April 4 where he will join a group of entrepreneurs in ringing the opening bell at the NASDAQ. Cactus Jack, who has sold millions of dollars worth of merchandise by bringing innovative products to market through home-shopping networks and infomercials, will be participating in the bell ceremony along with the stars of the Shark Tank television show.
The ceremony will take place at the NASDAQ on Wall Street in New York City at 8:30 a.m. central time. The ceremony is webcasted live at www.nasdaq.com and televised on the Bloomberg network, Fox Business News, CNBC and others.
Cactus Jack appeared on the Shark Tank show, which is carried on the ABC affiliate in the Des Moines market, in 2010. On the show, he successfully pitched an idea for the Body Jac, an exercise device that assists with pushups. Investors – or “sharks” as they’re referred to on the show – Barbara Corcoran and Kevin Harrington provided Cactus Jack $180,000 in cash for a 50% ownership stake in the Body Jac.
In the months since making the deal on Shark Tank, Cactus Jack and his partners produced an infomercial selling the Body Jac. He will be featured on the May 6 airing of Shark Tank with an update on the Body Jac.
Cactus Jack will also participate in a press conference launching Corcoran’s new book “Shark Tales” in New York City on Tuesday, April 5. Cactus Jack is referenced several times in the book and his experience on Shark Tank is retold in detail.
